🚨 Safety Updates
Australia is transitioning from Workplace Exposure Standards (WES) to Workplace Exposure Limits (WEL) by 1 December 2026. Changes include renaming standards, updated individual limits, splitting sensitisation into DSEN/RSEN, adding ototoxicity (OTO) notations, removing carcinogenicity (CARC) notations, and addressing 33 non-threshold genotoxic carcinogens (NTGCs) with stricter risk controls.
Fall protection is essential for workplace safety at heights, preventing injuries and fatalities. Regulations like Australia’s AS1657, OSHA in the U.S., and EU guidelines mandate protective measures from around 1.5–2 m. Systems include roof railings, guardrails, anchor points, harnesses, and lanyards, ensuring compliance, reducing risks, and safeguarding workers effectively.

🧰 Construction Au Other
Across Australia, ageing water infrastructure from the 1960s–70s is failing under population growth, climate stress, and deferred renewals. Utilities are shifting to predictive, data-driven asset management using digital twins, pressure control, and integrated monitoring to prioritise renewals, reduce leaks, and extend asset life, rather than relying on costly full replacement.
🚀 Innovation, Digital & Futuristic Technology
Preconstruction inefficiencies stem from siloed software for takeoffs, estimating, and bid management. Contractors face duplicated data entry, rework, and productivity loss. Beam AI’s connected platform integrates workflows—takeoffs, estimates, BIM, and bid dashboards—using AI to synchronize data in real time, boosting capacity, reducing errors, and streamlining project delivery across the bid lifecycle.
🌱 Sustainability & Environment
